Conventions

The National Smooth Dancers meet twice a year.  These conventions are multi-day dance events full of social dancing, exhibitions, competitions and meetings for the various NSD Boards and Committees. A time for all the clubs to get together and meet members of the other clubs to keep bonded and enjoy dancing together.

State Convention

The State Convention is a four-day dance event held every Labor Day Weekend (September 4-7, 2026).
Various NSD Chapters rotate to host the event throughout the State.

This year (2026) the Fresno Smooth Dancers will host the National Smooth Dancers State Convention.
Queen Elect Oralia Fowler will succeed current Queen Vera Harvey.
The theme will be: “Around the World in Four Days ”

The public is welcome to any of our dances and conventions.  All you need is a love of dancing.
